Electric Sidewalk (3AM) LIVE by The Eric Daino Ensemble
My friend Eric Daino recently moved down to Texas and in less than a year has managed to put together an awesome collective thats starting to release some interesting music. Judging by the demos he sent me last year, this Live ep is gonna be a good listen.
My favorite part of the first single Electric Sidewalk (3AM)? During the sax solo at about 4:20, a violin joins the groove laid down by multiple guitars, keys, bass and horns to elevate the song to an exciting climax.

Lionel Hampton
Hamp's ''Flyin' Home'' had made some reefer-smoking Negro in the second balcony believe he could fly, so he tried-and jumped-and broke his leg, an event later immortalized in song when Earl Hines wrote a hit single tune called ''Second Balcony Jump.''(p.77) - The autobiography of Malcolm X.
